Central Texas Precision PCSL Rifle Match Brief Location: Temple Gun Club Address: 3924 FM 438 Loop, Temple, TX Match Start: 9:00 AM Format: PCSL Rifle - Long Range Only Distances: 100 to 500 Yards Stages: 5 Recommended Round Count: 100 Rounds Welcome Welcome to the Central Texas Precision PCSL Rifle Match at Temple Gun Club. This event focuses exclusively on long-range rifle engagements from 100 to 500 yards. Competitors will be challenged with a variety of positional shooting problems requiring accuracy, efficient stage management, and effective use of ballistic data. This match is designed for both experienced and newer competitors seeking practical long-range rifle experience in a safe, competitive environment. This match is conducted under the current Practical Competition Shooting League (PCSL) ruleset. Competitors are encouraged to review the rulebook prior to match day. Schedule 8:30 AM – Check-In Opens 8:45 AM – Mandatory Safety Brief 9:00 AM – Hammer Down / Match Begins Match Conclusion – Score Verification and Awards Safety Rules Eye and ear protection are required at all times on the firing line. Chamber flags are required for all firearms unless actively shooting. Rifles must remain pointed in a safe direction at all times. Finger off the trigger until sights are on target and the shooter has made the decision to fire. Competitors must immediately comply with all Range Officer commands. Unsafe firearm handling may result in stage disqualification or match disqualification. Firearms may only be loaded at the direction of the Range Officer. Muzzles must remain within all designated safety angles. Equipment Recommendations Reliable centerfire rifle Minimum 100 rounds of ammunition Ballistic solver or DOPE card Bipod and rear bag Magazine capacity sufficient for stage requirements Water, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate clothing Scoring PCSL Time Plus scoring will be utilized. Steel impacts count as successful hits. Time penalties and procedural penalties will be assessed in accordance with PCSL rules. Lowest overall adjusted time determines placement. General Match Information All targets are steel. Target distances will range from 100 to 500 yards. Shooters will engage targets from a variety of supported and unsupported positions. Target distances will be provided unless otherwise specified in the stage briefing. Shooters are responsible for knowing their holds and managing their stage time effectively. Competitors are expected to assist with stage reset and maintenance when not actively shooting. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times. Questions regarding scoring should be directed to the Range Officer immediately upon completion of the stage.
